Summary:
DANGEROUS
is a contemporary gay adaptation of the novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Dangerous
Liaisons) by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos.
Marcus's boyfriend has been caught cheating with
Jason, a young trainer. Angered, Marcus
prompts his friend and confidante, Alexander, to sleep with Jason, thus
humiliating his boyfriend and claiming revenge.Alexander agrees to help Marcus, noting that he himself is currently
trying to win the affections of Trevor, a not-yet-ordained priest, with the
help of his "friend" Landon.
Marcus
and Alexander spend a long weekend at the beach house of Marcus's friend,
Rosemonde. They invite both Trevor and a
local music director, Daniel. Not-so-coincidentally,
Rosemonde has arranged for Trevor to stay at his house that same weekend, thus
enabling Alexander to pursue his plan to sleep with Trevor.
Alexander
succeeds in his plan to sleep with Jason, despite the budding romance between
Jason and Daniel. Trevor, unable to
commit to his feelings towards Alexander, flees Rosemonde's house, rushing back
to the city. Alexander follows and
confronts Trevor, and the two men finally consummate their relationship.
Marcus,
humiliated by Alexander's proclamation of love for Trevor, insists they break
up. Not willing to lose either the
friendship or the love he has for Marcus, Alexander breaks up with Trevor, who
has given up everything, including the priesthood, for Alexander. Rushing back to Marcus to claim his
"reward," Alexander is horrified to learn that Marcus has been
manipulating him all along for his amusement.
The
two men declare war against each other, ultimately forcing Alexander to leave
the city. However, Marcus's
manipulations have been revealed to his social circle, thus alienating him from
the world of which he felt mastery.
